Youngest Sister

Flash of blonde
And she's gone.
Dancing
Twirling
Laughing

As I fade out
She grows brighter
So radiant
I must look away,
Not for the sting in
The eyes,
But the lump in the
Heart.

Beautiful
And broken
I want to fix it all.
I hold her hand
And lead her to my spot
At the kitchen table.

As memories flood,
And desperation calls.
I tuck her in,
We pray together.

For her, my soul cries out
And my lips speak
The secret words
Only I know will heal:
"You will never be alone."

Streak of pink
Ballet shoes on the floor.
Dancing
Twirling
Laughing

Panic

Red center inside
Gallops in place,
As blue orbs beside
Grasp for air.

Surrounding green
Begins to orbit,
While glassy sheen
The windows receive.

Sobs like thunder,and
Purple rain, crashing down,
Usher, from far down under,
Tremors, quakes.

Colors, numbers start to blur:
Red and two
and blue and
Four.
One and green
And three and
and grey.

One breath in
One breath out.
Chest up
and down.

I am healing

I am more
Than the space
Between my legs.
You won't hold
Me back
Today.

I am the Phoenix,
Rising to a new
Beginning.
That which has
Been done
And
That
Which will be
Are separate entities.

I am Prometheus,
Stealing fire
From the
Gods.
Woman,
Here is your
Flame.

Your hands that
Hurt
Won't stop
Mine
From being
Hands
That heal.

I am more than the
Space between my
Legs.
I am the phoenix
Rising.
I am Prometheus stealing
Fire.
I am healing.

That which I was Not

I was told to pursue
That which I want to be,
Not that which I am.

So I became
A dancer
Not A fighter;
A mover
Not A maker;
A shifter
Not A shaker;
A tiwister
Not A taker;

I chased the thunder
And drank the rain,
Rather than lie in silence
And contemplate.

I played with the fires
I had started in times before.
And this time,
I burned myself,
Instead of the world.

Drawing Light

A sweep of the arm
A flick of the wrist,
Bold lines that
Speak life into
A dead page.

The light playfully dances across,
The shadows creep close.
A dynamic contrast
From deep within
The heart.

From soul to mind to head to
Arm to wrist to hand to
Finger to pencil to
Page to eye to
Mind to
Soul.

A sweep of the arm,
And the light playfully dances,
From soul to mind to head to
The lips that speak life.

Poem 4

When will I stand and fight?
When will I stop stepping aside?
When will I speak the truth?

After I am gone and dead?
After I'be been 6 feet under?
After my will's been read?

I'm tired of hiding.
I'm tired of pushing away.
I'm tired of running.

I want to stop, to turn back the clock.
I want to stop, with screams that burn my lungs.
I want to stop, feel life, and really be alive.

Poem 3

I've learned not to ask the questions
When I don't want the answers;
Curiosity is such a danger.
The world's a scary place
(But your heart is scarier).

To Ignore the music that makes
Me feel, or think, too much.
Don't touch that fence
(That's too close to trust).

To hide the fear in my eyes,
When in yours I see too much.
Stand tall, be brave (in the
Face of a painted
Paper flame).

Discribe color to a blind man,
And tell me if we can
Ever move (from
Our sinking sand).

Poem 2

It flickers
It wavers.
It knows neither
Right nor Wrong .

It dances
It radiates.
It knows not
Why nor How.

It drips
It melts.
It knows neither
Time or Space.

A silent beacon
A singing light.

Poem 1

The waves lie
Behind a wall of white
Dashing away before they've
Even begun to hang the
Albatross.
Fear, like the unknown within
The icy abyss beneath the
Ship sailing on a midnight raid,
Moves quickly to pull
Courage down..
Down...
Down under the surface.
Choking on would be's,
Would not's, what if's and
Regrets.
A metamorphosis is almost
Complete.
Courage, unwilling to die,
Sinking slowly to the bottom,
Begins anew.
Recklessness is born in the still watery underworld,
Swimming faster...
Faster...
Faster still.
Energy building.
Bursting through
The wall of white,
The waves form again.
They ripple and dance as their
Storm rages on.
Silent once before and
Never more.
