Seeing the Sin

I long for night
She cloaks me well,
Blinds my eyes to my
Scars, filth, and mistakes.
I dread the coming daylight,
And as his distance shortens,
Through the haze,
I see my unworth.
When skeletons are well hid,
Arrogance comes with ease,
But when "in the round" ,
It's chocked by
Humility and
Shame.

Tree of Knowledge

Like little droplets
Of blood,
Temptation dangles,

Like it was made
To fit
In this palm of mine.

Like a hand
Jutting out,
It pulls me hard.

Like a theif
In the night,
It steals my resistance.

Pandora's box is
Opened, and
Death's kiss
Meets my lips.
I know its poison,
But still,
I bite.

Once upon a time

Once upon a time
I was a pumpkin,
Orange and plump,
Happy and safe, but
Easily trampled underfoot.

I then became a flower,
Fragile and sweet,
But strongwilled and
defiant to the storms. But
Still fleeting in the winter cold.

I died quickly and
was reborn a bird
Free and proud,
But small and still so helpless.
The winds blew me off the ice
And the waves crushed me.

I opened to live again,
And I was a princess.
Beautiful hair, gowns and jewels.
Towers and walls and
A prince to
Save me from dangers.
Would they have guessed the
Danger was in myself?

After I fell from the steeple,
I became the southwind.
I flew the whole earth,
Had no heart to feel
No hands to hurt myself,
but could punish those who
Trampled me
Who froze me
Who pushed me.
Then the moon died and I
Once again did so too.

I awoke a star.
drifting endlessly
Watching in the dark
Finally light
Finally beautiful and unreachable
Untouchable.
I could burn with rage
Or with joy.

Moving on

A kelidescooe of blue above,
Light dancing in the water.
I drift down
Down
Further down,
Weightlessly sinking below waves
Unknown under the surface.

Hands plunge into the abyss
Reaching to bring me back.
Up
Up
Up to the world of glass and stone.
Voices, urgent, beg for return.

The ocean envelopes me,
The seaweed, like tentacles, pull
Deeper,
Deeper,
Even deeper.
Rainbowed orbs of air swim high
From my throat, taking my soul
In bits and pieces
Toward heaven.

A stone hidden within my ribs
Embraces gravity's tug,
Allows no struggle,
Just gentle submission to the blue
Seplechure housing all
Past shipwrecked memories and
Loves.
All still.
Still.
So still.

Youngest Sister

Flash of blonde
And she's gone.
Dancing
Twirling
Laughing

As I fade out
She grows brighter
So radiant
I must look away,
Not for the sting in
The eyes,
But the lump in the
Heart.

Beautiful
And broken
I want to fix it all.
I hold her hand
And lead her to my spot
At the kitchen table.

As memories flood,
And desperation calls.
I tuck her in,
We pray together.

For her, my soul cries out
And my lips speak
The secret words
Only I know will heal:
"You will never be alone."

Streak of pink
Ballet shoes on the floor.
Dancing
Twirling
Laughing

Panic

Red center inside
Gallops in place,
As blue orbs beside
Grasp for air.

Surrounding green
Begins to orbit,
While glassy sheen
The windows receive.

Sobs like thunder,and
Purple rain, crashing down,
Usher, from far down under,
Tremors, quakes.

Colors, numbers start to blur:
Red and two
and blue and
Four.
One and green
And three and
and grey.

One breath in
One breath out.
Chest up
and down.

I am healing

I am more
Than the space
Between my legs.
You won't hold
Me back
Today.

I am the Phoenix,
Rising to a new
Beginning.
That which has
Been done
And
That
Which will be
Are separate entities.

I am Prometheus,
Stealing fire
From the
Gods.
Woman,
Here is your
Flame.

Your hands that
Hurt
Won't stop
Mine
From being
Hands
That heal.

I am more than the
Space between my
Legs.
I am the phoenix
Rising.
I am Prometheus stealing
Fire.
I am healing.
